RESUMO

Dental trauma is a challenge for dental integrity and can lead to pulp necrosis. The clinical case reports the diagnosis of a maxillary right central incisor traumatized and its multidisciplinary treatment. Calcium hydroxide material was used to perform the processing apexification. An apical surgery was carried out to remove the apical periodontitis and to return the aesthetics to the patient; internal and external tooth whitening in maxillary right central incisor was performed. We conclude that surgery associated with the root filling in the central incisor led to a successful completion. Moreover, it is of utmost importance to demonstrate the interaction between the various areas of dentistry.

Dental trauma such as avulsion is a challenge to dental integrity and can result in pulp necrosis. When these characteristics are observed, apexification becomes imperative to obtain an adequate apical seal. The objective of this case report is to demonstrate a replantation of an avulsed central incisor and apexification treatment through calcium-hydroxide-based dressing. It is concluded that the replantation associated with a mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) root obturation in the central incisor led to a successful endodontic procedure

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the solubility of three restorative materials exposed to the different endodontic solvents. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The organic solvents eucalyptus oil, xylol, chloroform, and orange oil, with distilled water as the control group was utilized. The restorative materials light-cured resin (Filtek Z250/3M ESPE), light-cured-resin-reinforced glass ionomer (Riva Light Cure LC/Southern Dental Industries SDI]) and resin-modified glass ionomer (Vitremer/3M ESPE) were analyzed. A total of 50 disks containing specimens (2 mm × 8 mm Ø) were prepared for each of the three classes of restorative materials, which were divided into 10 groups (n = 5) for immersion in eucalyptus oil, xylol, chloroform, orange oil or distilled water for periods of either 2 min or 10 min. The means of restorative material disintegration in solvents were obtained by the difference between the original preimmersion weight and the postimmersion weight in a digital analytical scale. Data were statistically analyzed by two-way analysis of variance while the difference between the materials was analyzed by Student-Newman-Keuls test. The significance level set at 0.05. RESULTS: Vitremer showed the highest solubility, followed by Riva LC, and these were statistically different from eucalyptus oil, xylol, chloroform, and distilled water (P < 0.05). Regarding the immersion time in solvents, there were no significant differences between the two tested periods (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The solvents minimally degraded the composite resin, although they did influence the degradation of both resin-modified glass ionomer resin and resin reinforced with glass ionomer.

Iatrogenic perforation that during surgical procedures Access is often related to the neglect of anatomic teeth details. The perforations in the pulp chamber floor are the most frequently during endodontic access and worse prognosis. This paper describes a case of perforation on pulp chamber floor treated with the use of MTA (AU)

Resultados:o maior índice percentual do desvio apical ocorreu no grupo instrumentadopela lima tipo K, e, o menor, no grupo flexofile.

Introduction: The specialmaneuvers in the manual endodontic preparationallow the maintenance of the space projection ofthe root canal. Objective:The incidence of apicaldeviation in the preparation of curved canalswhen associate to the Weine?s maneuver wasevaluated. Methodology: Forty human molarswere divided (n=10) and prepared with K file, Kfile combined with incremental instrumentation, flexofile and flexofile combined with incrementalinstrumentation. After canal preparation, accurate silicone models were made to establishthe presence or absence of zip, through opticmicroscope. Results: the K-file presented largerpercentile of apical deviation in relation toflexofile. Conclusion: The incremental maneuverassociated to the K-files and flexofile, presentedintermediate percentile values.
